🇩🇪 Bevor das Pergamonmuseum im Oktober für mindestens 4 Jahre schließt, haben wir noch die Gelegenheit genutzt uns u.a. das Ishtar Tor anzuschauen. Es ist eines der Stadttore Babylons und war einst eins der sieben Weltwunder der Antike, bis es nach ihrem Verfall durch den Leuchtturm von Alexandria ersetzt wurde. Diese Teil-Rekonstruktion enthält original Ziegel aus der Ausgrabung im 19. Jahrhundert und ist schon seit 1930 in Berlin im Museum zu sehen.
Bis Ende Oktober habt ihr noch die Gelegenheit!
🇬🇧 Before the Pergamon Museum closes in October for at least 4 years, we took the opportunity to look at the Ishtar Gate, among other things. It is one of the city gates of Babylon and was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World until it was replaced by the Lighthouse of Alexandria after it fell into disrepair. This partial reconstruction contains original bricks from the excavation in the 19th century and has been on display in the museum in Berlin since 1930.
