🇩🇪 Wir haben mit dem Teufel getanzt. 👹
Das Fest zur Ehrung des Heiligen San Antoni wird auf den gesamten balearischen Inseln gefeiert. Es ist eines der ältesten Traditionsfeiern und gilt als heimliches Nationalfest. In Sa Pablo ist es seit 1365 dokumentiert.
Da Antonius als Schutzheiliger der Tiere gilt, werden Haustiere und Vieh gesegnet, die sogenannten „Beneïdes“.
Am Vorabend wird es besonders interessant, es werden Feuer gezündet und die Teufel tanzen in den Straßen, der Correfoc -Feuerlauf. Das Feuer dient als Schutz vor Laster und Versuchung, man vertreibt so das Böse. Der Sage nach wurde der Heilige zu seiner Zeit vom Teufel in Frauengestalt in Versuchung geführt. Um sich abzulenken entzündete Antonius ein Feuer und lief durch die Glut, der Schmerz Vertrieb die Lust. 🔥
Die Feier war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis, die Brandlöcher sind schöne Erinnerungen an diese Nacht.

The festival in honor of Saint San Antoni is celebrated throughout the Balearic Islands. It is one of the oldest traditional celebrations and is considered a secret national festival. It has been documented in Sa Pablo since 1365.
As Antonius is considered the patron saint of animals, pets and livestock are blessed, the so-called „Beneïdes“.
The evening before, things get particularly interesting as bonfires are lit and devils dance in the streets, the Correfoc. The fire serves as protection against vice and temptation, driving away evil. According to legend, the saint was tempted by the devil in the form of a woman in his day. To distract himself, Anthony lit a fire and ran through the embers, the pain distributing the lust. 🔥
The celebration was a very special experience, the burn holes are beautiful memories of that night.
